1 month away!

Well I am back in action at Yoga! Yae!

Went back to my first partial class this past Sunday. My foot still has achiness on and off. Some days better than others. No pain though. I will take achiness anyday over the pain I was feeling a few weeks ago. Turns out the issue I am currently having with my foot, I say currently bcs it always seems to be something new with it, is Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome.

What is Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome? Tarsal tunnel syndrome is a condition when the main nerve (posterior tibial) that goes to the foot gets squeezed. Tarsal tunnel syndrome is similar to carpal tunnel syndrome. The main difference between tarsal tunnel syndrome and carpal tunnel syndrome is that tarsal tunnel occurs in the foot and carpal tunnel occurs in the hands and wrist.

So I am working on getting back to a full yoga class. My doctor reminded me to easeee back into it and just be aware of all the feeling my foot (Arti) is feeling before, during, and after class. So much easier said than done. When I was in class on Sunday I just wanted to jump right back into all the postures. Frustrating sitting down during several of the standing postures and watching everyone elses healthy feet working hard. I need to be very careful with my foot now and during training so I can make it through the intense 2 months. One of the Yoga instructors flat out said, Your foot will flare up in Hawaii at training. Its a reality I am gonna have to face. With such intensive training 5 days a week its bound to happen. I just pray I dont do any long term nerve damage by jumping into training while I have this problem with my foot. A woman at yoga class mentioned when she had a foot injury it took 5-6 yrs for the pain and flairing to completely go away.

At any rate, the first day of being back at yoga went well. I did a little more with my foot than I should've if I am to ease back into it. The day after it's feeling ok and I am continuing to ice and rest it as much as I can as well as taking an anti-inflammatory. Only time will tell. Please be good to me foot!

So far I have memorized all 26 posture names in English and Sanskrit. I am on to memorizing the dialogue. I have the first 3 lines of Half Moon memorized. Ha. Lotsss more studying to go! Must catch up to Jess if I want to compete for teachers pet. haha.
