Kauai!

Aloha! We are officially on vacation in Hawaii!!!! Yaeeee.

Ok a slow start...we left graduation early to catch our flight over to Kauai Saturday and ended up missing the flight by 10 minutes. Haha. We were all in the clouds and busy planning our adventure while grabbing a quick bite to eat at an airport restraunt. Next flight out was 6am the next day! So we trecked back to the Ilika (thought it was the last time we would see that aqua and white hotel) luckily our check out date wasnt until Sunday afternoon so we were still able to crash in our room and not pay anymore fees. We left bright and early at 4am the next morning so we didn't miss our flight again. Aye. Never have worked my body so hard the past two months and got the least amount of sleep ever at the same time!!

Kauai is heaven on earth!!! I have never been to a more beautiful, lush, raw environment like this. Words can not describe. I am taking lots of pics of course but nothing like seeing it in person. Its like being in a postcard. Amazing! We haven't even begun our adventure and exploring here. Can not imagine how much more jaw dropping it can get! Today we went to the beach and hung out with Puff, yuh know, the magic dragon? Haha. We are one block from the best beach - Hanalei Bay. Took pictures of Puff. The sand is super soft and the water is calm and the most perfect temp. I can't get over how wonderful it is everywhere I look! Am I really here?

Laid out a bunch on the beach and got some great color, ohhh forgot to mention, the day of our graduation Jess and I got Henna tatoos! What a great experience! The woman and her friend who did them came to us at the hotel. Sat next to the pool and got the henna done on my feet, Jess got her left palm done. The woman were so sincere and sweet and it felt like such a special moment. Cheesy as it might sound. Rebecca, who does the Henna told us when someone gets henna for the first time or for a special occasion (graduation for us) it's seen as a blessing on your skin. Loved that and how it ties into the whole yoga spiritual cleansing experience. They did an amazing job and yeah I took lots of photos. I hope it lasts until I get home. Love that its not permanent, wasn't ready for a full time tatoo. I am inspired now to learn more about the art of henna and trying it out on my own when I get home! It's such a crafty creative thing to do on the body! How I miss my crafts...

So I am travelling on Kauai with Jess of course and our friend Un Jung who came to visit and vacation with us from NJ - mahallaaaa! (that is a combo of NJ and Hawaiian I made up - Mahalo meaning thank you, and of course the classy NJ holla meaning hello) and our awesome friend Tori we met at yoga training. 4 girls out on the island. We are gonna have the best week!

After the beach we did some shopping in walking distance from our house. Again ideal! Cutest eateries and shops in a 3 block distance from our temp. home. Picked up yet moreee gifts for my 2 sisters. I need to keep my eyes closed when I go into stores now! No money or room in my luggage at all! Had a real good sushi dinner and saw our first Kauai rainbow during dinner!

Tanning season is open! I am rocking out in the sun as much as I can this week to mazimize my skin tonage. No worries, wearing the SPF 30 to protect. Gonna go crash now. We are getting up at 5:30am to get out there and explore! Checking out a blow hole in the area, the wettest spot on earth in Kauai, than a 4hr. sunset Catamaran ride through the Napali Coast! Free drinks during the boat ride. Nice, after 2 months of no drinking allowed at training. Full days packed ahead. This week we wanna beach it, go horse back riding, do a zip line, and whatever else we can fit in. Oh yeah study my dialogue too so I can be ready to teach when I get back! Can't forget what brought me to this magical place on earth!! Much Aloha! *Sarah
