Nothing really worth having comes quickly and easily; If it did, I doubt that we would ever grow. - Eknath Easwaran
Hiyuh. This has been a great wknd. after a busy week of my mind and body racing to memorize and continue to push further and farther than I thought possible during this training!
Saturday I got treated to an awesome smurfy blue toes pedicure by my sugar mama Jess :) They do awesome toe/nail designs in Hawaii. We both got fun flowers painted on our big toes. We strolled through town with no timelines in mind (love that about the wknds) and on our way back to the hotel ran into our friend Rob who was heading to the movies alone.
We all decided to head over and pick a movie that was starting closest to when we showed up. Shrek 3! Yae. I have been wanting to see that movie. It was really cute. Of course my favorite character in the movie is Puss in Boots, the cat, with those big eyes. Anyway passed out briefly in the movie. My body is so damn tired. Rob did too. Ha. 2 out of the 3 of us. Movie rating, def fun to see but not as great as the first couple Shrek movies. The movie was mid day which I havent done in a while so its fun to have a nice sunny day still ahead of you once exiting the theatre. We walked around the shopping area and checked out the stores. A whole bunch of people I noticed were walking around with real cute pocket sized dogs. Thought it was sort of strange, maybe it was popular in this area to bring your dog shopping with you? Well at the end of the shopping area was a Pet Shop! Ahh. Keep me as far away from those places as possible!
I fell in love, am still in love, with a mini dachshund that was 2 months old! He was only 2 lbs and would grow to 8-10lbs full grown! That is smaller than Pumpernickel! Anyway he was a little expensive bcs of his rich family history. I have never been a big fan of those mini toy dogs but for some reason the 'hot dogs' I have loved the idea of having one for the past couple yrs. Really really debated for the next 4-5hrs the store was open of going back to buy him and bring him home with a Hawaiian name and all. I asked the store all the questions of how he would do flying and bringing him back to NJ with papers, apparently his breed likes cats too! Well the hotel isn't pet friendly and also the price of buying him, taking the week off after training to travel still, etc. As much as I still want him it wasn't the right time. I researched online and found places throughout NY I can purchase a mini dach for about half the price and also no worries of travelling home with him. Booo. He was sooo sweet! Too much to think about when I return home to a full time job as well as filling up any free time with teaching yoga and getting as much experience with that as I can. Anyway that was the big thing this wknd consuming my heart :)
Sunday, today I slept in and read big bits and pieces of a book Jess just purchased. 'Eat, Pray, Love' by Elizabeth Gilbert. Great novel! Its mid day and I missed peak tanning hrs but I am gonna go head out to the beach to lay outside and listen to the waves and relax on my own some more. Its been a nice day spending it with myself. I can be so selfish. I love me time!!! Hasn't happened that much here during yoga training. I passed up a 9 mile hike with a waterfall today (Jess headed out this morning with a bunch of people). I have 2 weeks left in training and wanted a lazy day but also don't wanna do anything that screws up my foot. Its been handling this intense 9 weeks amazingly. I'm so greatful! When I am in Kauai vacationing I will be exploring, hiking, biking, horse back riding, and adventuring enough anyway. Its so close!!
I can not believe 2 more weeks left at training. I feel like all of us here are getting so comfortable with each other even more so. Gonna miss this whole living in Hawaii doing yoga every second of each day thing with all these people. My group 6 is going out to dinner together next Saturday night to celebrate finishing memorizing dialouge and getting through posture clinic together! Yae. that will be a fun thing to do the night before my bday! Haven't figured out how to celebrate my bday yet. Off to the beach now and this evening I will continue studying the last of 6 remaining postures! Aloha * Sarah
