"The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step" – Lao Tzu
We're here!!
Longggg flight over, got to watch 2 movies I hadn't seen though. Holiday and Dream Girls. Passes the time btwn naps and gossip magazines..not that I buy those things. :)
The time difference was tough the past couple days! But I am getting adjusted quickly. Its gorgeous in Hawaii and everyone is so welcoming and friendly. Sorry NJ. We were so lucky to get out of town right before all the rain and lucky to have no delays on our flights!
First night we stayed in a hotel literally across the street from the Ilikai (we didnt know we could book a day earlier at our permanent hotel). It was quite funny seeing Jess and I the next day lugging all our bags across the street in multiple trips. Of course its a real busy street so the intersections are way down the road. Ha.
Well we lucked out with our room situtation. We have a kitchen! Some people do not. What I have heard is that the rooms with no kitchen only have a small small fridge. Some people were paired up with 3 roomates in a room with one bed and a pullout sofa bed. Luckily all that was taken care of by the end of the day so each person only shares a room with 1 other. few! Those with kitchens are told we should be sharing them with anyone needing to cook. Will let u know how that goes.
In our room we only have 1 king size bed. Jess and I will share instead of using the pull out sofa. Who wants to sleep on that. The bed is soooo comfy! We have a balcony which is nice, no view of the beach but would take a kitchen over that anyday!
Orientation was yesterday. Checked in, got our first leigh! Also our anatomy book and binder. Met the Bikram Yoga staff and alll the 315 students! Wow. Lots of new things yesterday. Overwhelming but exciting at the same time. We have met a lot of nice people from all over already (California, Australia, Texas, Israel, Florida, Nevada, etc). No others from NJ or NY we have met just yet. We meet Bikram today in about a half hr. We are told he likes to make an entrance. Ha. He will give the first lecture and than later this evening we will do our first dialouge for Half Moon Pose and have our first yoga class!
I have uploaded a few photos to my snapfish account and here is the link: http://www1.snapfish.com/share/p=631161176750823622/l=262640716/g=4168081/otsc=SYE/otsi=SALB . I cant guarantee how often I will be able to do that or keep up with my journal bcs my computer is a snailllll, dunno if its the connection over here or what. Also I should be spending any free second memorizing my dialogue. So strange being out of touch with people but loving it here so far!
