Free Day!

"Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end." - Unknown

Much Aloha Love! Its Sunday, my only free day....all day long! Have much studying to do and memorizing of the dialogue, what am I doing now though? Journaling, uploading pics, getting excited for our big event out today - food shopping and walmart. haha.

Yesterday we went to the beach right after class and it was sooo relaxing! We walked further along the beach in Waikiki and layed out around the Royal Hawaiian, also known as the Pink Palace. Their were no rocks in the water there which was so nice on the feet! A real crowded part of the beach although no other yogis around. We also were laying out right next to some of the boats that were used later in the day for Don Ho's funeral on the water. Link below for pics. I got so much color laying out in only one day! I can't wait till our week in Kuai! I will be so tan. Haha.

Walking back to our part of the beach and the Ilikai we knew we were getting closer to 'home' bcs we saw lots of yogis walking around reciting their dialogue on the beach and sitting in groups practicing postures/reciting. Jess and I took a bunch of pics of that too. See link below.

So much for Cinco De Mayo. No quesadillas for us. Jess and I ended up passing out for basicly the whole day/night when we returned back to our room! Our bodies were sooo tired and I guess needed a bit of a recharge.

So this is the end of week 3! Next week is going on a month at training!! I can not believe how fast the weeks fly by and we are almost halfway through. I am having Soooooooo much FUN here!!!! I feel like I am learning so much about myself and other people, their personalities and my own strengths and weaknesses! I'm really really enjoying this. Many more teachers have shown up to help out with Posture Clinic and wherever else they may be needed. Whenever they introduce themselves they remind us to 'Trust the Process' and all the changes happening to us. That we will reflect a whole lot more once we return home and we will be different people. It sounds so dramatic everytime one of the teachers tell us this. I'm thinking in my head, what what tell me how I will change. haha. But I am just feeling great lately seeing how I react under all the situtations that arise, sore muscles, lack of sleep, 300 new faces, delivering my dialogue, new environment...with your smiling happy face. Haha.

Monday is our last Anatomy test and than diving in to 4 hr clinics each day for Dialogue!! Ahh. I'm anxious to get up there again and recite Awkward Pose to see how I handle my nerves this time. I really want to use Dr. Glass's advice and get over being nervous. No more thinking about me, me and being self concious. As a teacher we are there to teach the postures and help the students learn. They need us to focus on them and not worry about ourselves. I plan to be as present as I can and work on connecting the dialogue with the students. The hardest part right now is to connect the 2 and not look at the students as if I am reading the dialogue from a tella prompter. Once the dialogue is memorized thats the next step. Seems real easy, but getting your voice and eyes to connect into one flowing form is tricky. Will let you know how it all goes!!

Enjoy! Aloha! Study Time. * Sarah

ok so, i def know what its like to be freaked out about the speaking thing... just remember it will be slightly easier when you are actually teaching ppl in class cause they wont know if you stumble a little! (thinking that way usually helps me get through being observed by people who do know what i am talking about!) allso... i will take baby pics when i go home this weekend (the 11th)!
